Just as a step to prepare for the months in Africa I have upgraded a lot of my stuff. And my mind have been busy with what to pack in my bags. My biggest concern is how to creative on the road. Can I practice my singing?
So; this very day I picked out the files from one of the files from Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy to be my companion on this trip. I am not done in this yet but will be in the coming days. Such a relief!

This autumn I have stepped upon a higher plateu for my vocals. This actually means adressing the problems I have with strenght and coming in to low. I learned my faults and weakness and has also been given new tools from my vocal coach. Applying and knowing though is two concepts far apart. Sometimes I've doubt my ability and even my voice but this Monday the session at Mindvoice changed it all. We discovered a vital key! This brought a new kind of peace of mind to me and I can surely rest in the Lord God. Applying this key will be really exciting and I think I might step upon yet another plateu.

Well.. This day I spent some time listening to Ken Tamplin. I have been struggling with my voice for quite some time now; well too many years actually. And the issue has been accelerating like crazy the last months. As you might remember I started taking lessons together with a new vocal coach in august. This was a really hugh step for me take and I discovered I had many issues. Most of them are of technical art. I know a lot in theory but now is the time to apply the techniques.
One of the issues this year has been my head voice. It just sounds airy and got no strength. And today I might found out a way to get this right. Ken Tamplin was talking about sing in a vocal fry. So this I will try out for the coming months in the way he ordained it.

Back in March this year I published a tracklist for the upcoming EP. Well.. now it is on the verge of being published an updated version. So in the weeks to come a new version (the final one?) will be released.

Daevidius has been going on for quite a long time now. The first album (The demon and the Angel) was relased 12 years ago (!). Just the other day I sat down and revisited all the songs from then to now. Some songs are excellent still and some are surpassed by time. Maybe the time is near to re-record and re-release them all? Maybe it is time to just leave it as it is and just keep on enjoying the voyage onwards? However; the process is started as a parallell process to see if there will be any further development or just focus onwards.

I just had a day off and set aside the day for recording vocals. And guess what? I managed to record new vocals on two songs and this in a new way. It sounds amazing to my ears. I am in a new process of learning recording.
So what is new then? I have been testing out different styles of recording vocals for many, many years. A week ago or so I set up my SM7B in a new way, mounted on a microphone stand with no extra inserts like pre-amps or so. The volumes for recording and the technique behind the microphone is also new and more according to standard. This in line with the new learning travel with my new vocal coach Ingvar Bengtsson makes a significant change and update.
Next step is mixing for the songs I have been working on to release in the near future.
Note this process is first tested out on different projects/bands and it seems to work out fine. And since it is working quite well I will deploy this to Daevidius next coming releases.
