(Song Series I) - Why I wrote 'Heaven or Hell'

The other day I said to myself: Why don´t I write something about why I wrote the songs to begin with? So here comes the first part in a series about why I wrote my songs, The songs will be presented in the order they are produced on the albums.

The theme is two different persons. One dies and goes to Heaven, the other one dies and go to Hell. The idea is why discuss if these places are fictional or real, we all will know when we die. Will we live forever? Will we all go to Heaven? Is there a Hell? Noone really knows, It is just a matter of acceptance and belief. It is irrelevant of what you and I think. One day we will know what was true and what was false.

Songwriting in full bloom

Could the summer be better than it is right now? It is cloudy, the temperature is moderate. And I am free from my dayjob. So what does it mean? Shouldn't we complaining about what is going down? About the "bad weather"? I say no!

It is perfect weather for songwriting in other words! And tonight we will complete the 8th track that might be recorded for the new album. Inspired like never before, it is really moving forward!

In the coming weeks and months I will reveal what every song yet published by Daevidius meaning to me. And above all why I wrote these songs. So stay posted!

I Know How To Die

The songwriting keep progressing. Right now I am writing on a song to be titled Beyond. The lyrics is about what lies beyond the curtain of death. Is there something beyond? Do we live on? Noone really knows. And even if someone came back from the dead, would we believe him/her? I don't think so...

Sometimes we think to much about dying. Sometimes we think to much about living. But one thing is for sure. I know how to die. I wish for to die as a Soldier of the spiritual realm. I wish to die fighting for every hurt soul out there. I know how to die.

Halfway through?

Tonight I finished the fifth song for the next album. In the wings there are also songs completed that might could fit. Still have not decided if we will record mostly fast songs or mostly heavier songs. So in reality we have maybe ten songs completed. But which one to be on the album; that's another question.

Is your heart in it?

I am convinced that you need to have your heart in it to be really successful. In this time and age (and probably all other times as well..) success equals money and fame. But In my mind that is not true. If you think about many of those we hold for celebrities from yesteryears, is it those who were the most rich or the most popular? In some cases, yes but I think in most cases, no.

The only way to feel good about what you do, if you are a musician or not, is to have your heart in it. It does not guarantee that everyone thinks your great but it produces a satisfaction greater than life. And the result may linger on.
