Yesterday I posted about the completion of the first volume of Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy. Today I spent some hours in starting up volume 2. And I must say; it is so thrilling.

How to sing Better than Anyone Else - Version 3.0 - Volume 1

Today I reached a mile stone. I completed volume 1 of the excellent Ken Tamplin course 'How to sing better han anyone else Volume 1'. And boy, the journey has just begun. The vocal recordings I am doing right now is on a new level and it feels like I am just a child the more I learn.

The wheels are turning... to the Studio

Everyting worth doing takes a long time doing.... Well, too much worktime outside the music halted the process a bit. And for sure; one more bump in the road is, as always, the idea to rewrite songs just as they are to be recorded. Still there is some more things to be done and some more things to be written but today I opened up the gates to the creativity again. I am now preparing all tracks to be recorded by creating the templates needed. This time around it will be different to the other times.

New setlist for upcoming EP

After a completly awesome session Friday 7th of October where I tested out about 70% of the songs in the progress folders the setlist for the upcoming EP changed. This was done during a day of fasting and silence. Can it be God talking to me? I think so.

The new setlist is (order might change):

8. Fight (released 2014; now in new version)

Now it seems like it will almost a full album. Let it be so! And note; this will for sure not be the last version of this, I am for sure

Better pitch with KTVA

For some time now I have been a member of Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy and the last year I have made major progress in my singing. One of the major factors in this progress is Ken Tamplin as well as my personal Vocal Coach Solveig Hagman.

Today I started of a new section in the Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy regarding Better Pitch. I have received quite a lot of critique regarding my vocals and I hope these new exercises will adress and correct these issues. The road ahead is always striving forward and believing in the future and the gift of singing. This is just another stepping stone.

Finally... In the Studio

 Finally... Today I started recording for the new EP. Still I am working on some material to be finalized shortly. It was really a thrill to start recording. And it was really nice to use flute for the first time in a Daevidius song. This will be free minded and different I hope and still Heavy Metal.

The new EP SONGLIST

Yesterday it was decided how many songs and which songs on the EP. The tracklist is:

* War on our souls
* Hour of Freedome
* My Saviour My Brother My Lord

The titles maybe alter. And the songs will be rewritten now or maybe even in the recording phase.

The working title for this EP is "The Last Chapter"

Songwriting is on the way for new EP

Finally or at last if you would like to use that term instead, the song writing for the new EP is on the rise. The guitar has been picked up and as soon as I do the material of new stuff comes rolling in. I know I have to live in faith, just walk in faith to create new unique tracks. Hopes are up; song writing to take place in August and September and recording during Oktober and november. Some new stuff will be released in december no matter what!

Whats going on?

Not much is happening in the camp of Daevidius. Or maybe so very much is going on. Things that will change everything. Change the scene. Change Daevidius. The latest months I have been working in the Studio with a solo song written for my youngest sisters wedding 10 years ago. I has been rearranged and re-recorded. Today I finalized the master and this song will be released in the weeks to come. 

Another thing; I will start to re-arrange and write new songs for the next Daevidius. I think this will start this week.

Today I sent the order for the webbsite daevidius.se to go offline. The site is not really a channel for communication, just a dream and nothing else. So now the time has come to move on and leave it behind.

Sweden Rock Festival Start up

 So it all began! Yesterday was a day in the sun as a worker for Sweden Rock Festival. It was pretty laid back and really cool people to work with. Next week the festival will start on wednesday.

Nothing new II?

Well, yet another month in this life story of mine. And the storyline of Daevidius as well. Still there is nothing new from the Daevidius camp. Still all spare time on my hands go for this project. And it will be so probably for this month as well. You know; time is a funny thing. And we have to prioritize what to spend our time on. Sometimes, maybe all to often, we waste it away on projects leading nowhere. But still; one thing at a time.

Nothing new?

So what is going on in the Daevidius camp? Not much really. For the last month I have been working on a song I wrote for one of my sisters wedding back in 2012.  So, this year it is 10 years ago the wedding and why not rewrite and record it properly. You see; I have been working on updating the Studio and in doing so I listened through all previous recorded material and stumbled across the demo for that song. I said to myself: "Why have I not released this??". Maybe I am mistaken so I decided to play this old demo for some trusted friends and viola; they really liked the song. So I went ahead and spent all my spare time on this project.

Still; do not give up. There will be news from Daevidius shortly.

Tool live Copenhagen

Let the recordings begin...

For the moment being; I am still setting up the Studio. There have been a few setbacks and the level of commitment has been fairly low. However; strategies has been deployed and finally there is a kind of light in the tunnel.

Anyway; the decision is final. On April 1st I will start recording new material both for Daevidius and even for other projects.

Finally... the catalogue is completed

Puh... for the last month or so I have taken upon myself to reinvestigate all the material and songs I have not yet recorded to decide what to do with it. Some it was to be archived, some were meant to be completed and some of them needed more love and care. And today was the day when it all was completed. And it feels good to have come this far. Some songs and riffs has impressed me and I even asked myself why I havent recorded it. The coming months will be really fun. 

Rearranging and writing new and old will start shortly!

In Retroperspective past time and years

The last week(s) I have been evaluating and listen to ALL the things I have saved from the last 10 years of creativity. And it is nice to see how I have developed and grown. In some parts I can sometimes marvel over the descisions which songs to record and which not to. I might record some of the songs and release. Only time will tell.

Latest week in the Studio

Finally; at last or not? Last week was really inspiring. I got some time off to reinvent and restart an old project together with a friend of mine. We are really blown away how the new stuff and gear is really coming together. Together we created a really good signature guitar sound for my friend. The songs we produce in there will not be under the name of project but maybe the guitarsound signature will be.

The studio is still in the making. The last part to work with is the most important; the vocals including a song booth.

Studio in process Part III

Still learning new. I have learned so much. Travelled new roads and old roads as well.  So how far have I travelled? Well now I have tested out bass, guitar, drums and keyboards including setting up Halion and beginnning to learning symphony orchestra. 

Really nice to note that all the drum sets programmed in Superior Drummer for the last years is for sure to be used in Cubase. They sound so much better with the new engine. 

Remaining is setting up vocals including building vocal booth. There will also be more extended work with guitar sound, keyboard sounds and new drum sets. So much to do, still so little time.

A little prayer

The process with new studiogear and learning a "new" DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is still on. And for sure, will continue for quite a while. I learned new tricks of the trade. But there is really one thing right now blowing my mind. Just before I started installing the new studio computer I said a short prayer from my heart to God about the studio room being a place of creativity. The last month has been a rollercoaster of emotions but really; I must say God answered my prayer. How? Well; I have learned new tricks by myself not trusting on others or youtube first hand. The Holy Spirit talks to me in his small voice and I have started to believe in my own capability and my own way of solving upcoming issues. And I am 100% sure this is due to that little prayer. So grateful and enjoyess.

Studio in process Part II

What can I say? So much learned, so much gained but still so long way from home. Or is it? Anyway; still in the making of the perfect environment for recording and producing new music. Right now I just put aside all kind of writing since the time is precious. The focus is on the machine. And what can I say? I have spent the last week exploring old ground i.e. old software and hardware. And it is nice to find out some of the old stuff still works. But it takes time. You know; 10 years of backups and material takes time to test.

So far I have managed to create a new bass sound or really several new sounds in several styles. Right now I am working on new guitar sounds. And some of my friends will be involved in this process.

Studio in process

Right now all spare time is set for reinventing the studio. It is like renovating a house; just when you think you are done there is something else on the horizon. Making descisions is to hard and it is just in retrospective you can note if it was the correct one or not. The most annoying thing is all the money you spend in order for it to make it work. 

The new core of the studio is a new computer with, sad to say, already some wrong decisions made. But it is just to readjust and remake to make it work. Today I made my first scrap recordings with the new machine and it worked even though there is so much more to do to make it right. Most of the software are in place anyhow even though it is not in its right place yet.
