Today is one of very few days off from my daytime work. And I must say; what an inspiraton is has been! I started up the songwriting for the new EP from Daevidius. There are lots of material to derive from and this day I spent most of half the day to rewrite a song two years old. And I must say; I am stunned how "easy" it was. The only rule really when it comes to being creative is to just keep on going; do not stop. Only the sky is the limit Do not let feelings like tiredness and likewise stop you!

I sometimes have a tendency to use the rearview mirror instead of using the windshield. Still; sometimes it is needed to take a good look on the past and be grateful of history and be inspired to new greater deeds. This blog, also used like a diary of Daevidius, has been going on for ten years and that is a pretty long time. Sometimes it seems like an eon of time, sometimes it seems like a second or two. And soon there is another year coming; a year that will for sure mean something new, different and greater. So stay tuned for the time to come. In the meantime; pray and believe.

Time really flies. Or it might have been taken hostage by some unknown force. Anyhow; the process of beginning to create a new kind of studio is in the last stages. And it fits fine since it is black friday soon and we are in the black week. And the recording of the demos for the finished songs can start.

A day off ot from work; how to spend this day? Well of course, making plans a week ago to make sure nothing will disturb the peace on this day. And the result? Recording vocals on three new songs in writing. These new songs are not completed yet but definitely on the go. And in the days to come demo for the up n coming singles from Daevidius will start. And yet so much to go down.

Despite having to work six (6) days this work the creative process take no rest. And the plan ahead is about to be reset and yet even more focused than ever before. The time for finally update teh studio with new hardware is really near. And so many other projects and songs and titles are to be set and started. The process in writing new songs are really on an all time high. So stay tuned and blessed!

What can I say? I have been in the flow the latest two weeks. In just this short period of time I have finalized or started new embroys for 10 new songs for different kind of projects. And just this weekend I started recording demos of all the songs. Keys and drums for all songs are programmed. The foundation for further work is laid down.
Keep the faith and know; singles will be released. I hope it will be sooner than later.

This year has been a real rollercoaster. What is the road map for Daevidius? This will project linger on? Will in evolve? Many plans and ideas has been in the mind and dwelled there for many months this year. And finally it seems like it is coming to rest. The plans are now implemented as it should be.
So it seems like there have been low activity but that is not the truth. On the contrary, what goes on behind the scenes creates the future and even this current day.
This week has been a blessing and a creative explosion. This week means creating fully or partly 11 songs including totally new material and rearrangeing old. And I am really thankful to God for this even to occur. So for now we will continue with recording and hopefully releasing some new stuff before this year ends. Hopefully I say since the Studio as well will be upgraded and that means learning new stuff to achieve greater produced songs.

There is a really delicate problem some of us creatives can have and that is we have to much ideas. That is how it is for me. The downside with this is if you have to many projects ongoing at the same time nothing will be accomplished. So; this weekend I have postponed many ideas and songs and projects. Now it is just focus on a few. I am planning to release new material before next year and it is looking brighter than before. More details to come.

For a couple of years or really many years now I have been attending class at a vocal teacher. I have no decided to step up my game some more. Today, 1st of september, I started my daily program at Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy. This will be a blast.

This weekend I am trying out all the new gear. I am looking for new sounds to the new material coming up. And a more distinctive unique sound or maybe not. Today I tried out the Tech 21 SH with its settings referring to famous bass players. It sounded quite nice. The next coming week I will look for my own sound using this equipment.
I also started lookin for my signature guitar sound but it seems like I have a long way ahead of me acheiving that great sound.

The process of updating the studio is ongoing. This time around I have chosen to complete the way the bass will sound. One of my heroes of all time among bass players is Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. Or really he is the uttermust one. So of course there was no option than buying this signature modell from Tech 21. And soon I will test it out and compare the sound between the settings. It will be a blast!
In the coming weekend there will be decisions made about a new studio computer and what to buy to speed up the process of recording new songs.

Slowly slowly it starts to change. I mean the studio. Today I ordered some new equipment that will change and improve the bass sound and vocals mainly. And this is just the first stage. Major changes will be going down in the months to come. This is truly an exciting time!

Yesterday I got my basses fixed! And what a good result. The tonation is better and of course it sounds so much more fresh. And as a result I pulled out one of my first basses from the case it is stored in. And to my surprise it still sounds quite good despite the strings has not been replaced for 30 years...

This afternoon was a really nice treat. How come?
For quite a long time now I have been on the look for the next step in the story of Daevidius and even further on to new areas. And this afternoon I finally got together with a friend of mine. For some reason we have never played together so we discussed this and today was the day. And it went down really fine. We have all doors open to see how this develops. Let us pray it will be the way God wants it to be.

Finally starting off in the studio again. Right now it is kind of inbetween since a total update of the studio will happen in the following months. This will make the recording process so much faster. In the last days I note there is a technique namned "pink noise" and it sounds promising.
Otherwise; the songwriting are taken up on again. Since trying out on a new instrument (the piano) we will continue in the same tracks.

I have the last couple of days been experimenting with new methods. Just the other night I sat down by the piano and starting composing new vocallines for an old song needing rewriting. And I think it went quite well. In just two days I finished the complete song. Maybe this is a new way forward?

Let´s get down to it. Why not trying to push the envelope? Why not trying to reach the sky? Therefore I yesterday decided to get a new vocal rolemodel in my exercises. I wont for now reveal who it is, maybe in a few months I will. But I can reveal He has a nice tone even though some claims he can not sing.... So lets get our hands dirty and practice even harder.

Today is a great day! I have started to upgrade the studio with new gear. Step 1 treaded; a guitar amp purchased for nice price; a Peavy 112 Bandit. New gear to come in the next weeks.

It has been a long time without really writing any material or songs. The focus has been on planning for the future and what to come. Now it seems like the shadows and the mists have cleared and the path lies there in the open. Some updates will also be made to the studio; you could say it is half step to upgrading the whole studio with a lot more "things" that will make the process so much faster.

Today I created a focusgroup for new song demos. Or really not because this has been ongoing for a while, maybe two weeks or so. Right now this is a small group of people I trust but my hope is to expand this to a little bit more. Just three people is to small. So I might choose you next to hear the demo songs and be a part of the song writing process in a new way for me at least.

It might be really odd but finally I managed to promote the video for Come Follow Me by paying Facebook for an advert. The goal is to get more hits on the youtubechannel. This will be thrilling.

Tonight I went back into the studio again. This time it was not for Daevidius but for another project I have been asked to participate in. And what a joy! Learning to record acoustic instruments in a completely new and arranging tracks for classical orchestra was a blast! Who know what will come down the pipeline from this fresh restart?
